Jennette McCurdy has found a way to put her love of cupcakes to good use!
The iCarly star will be giving up some of her personal time to sell Sprinkles cupcakes – all the money that she raises will go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure breast cancer charity.
Here’s what Jennette had to say about the event:
“On February 11th, I am selling cupcakes @Sprinklesbh and the money from every cupcake sold while I’m there will go to charity! Come say hi!”
If you live in California, you can come meet the star face to face and buy one of these helpful little cupcakes at the Sprinkles in Beverly Hills (9635 South Santa Monica Boulevard, Beverly Hills, CA). Jennette will be there from 3-5pm so don’t wait too long to swing by or you might miss her!
Do any of you live in the area and plan on stopping by?
Vanessa Hudgens has announced that she will be holding an auction to help raise money for Stand Up to Cancer.
She will be auctioning off her Candie’s floor-length silver gown that she wore to the Video Music Awards.
“I’m so excited to announce that I am auctioning off my Candie’s Couture VMAs dress to support Stand Up To Cancer.
Stand Up To Cancer is a charity that is very near and dear to my heart, and I had so much fun wearing this Candie’s dress to the MTV VMAs last year that I thought I should auction it off to support this fantastic cause.
In this case, we couldn’t be prouder that Selena Gomez is a huge sell out – for her UNICEF concert that is!
The UNICEF ambassader is holding her second annual benefit concert to be held on January 20th at the House of Blues in Hollywood. Tickets were nabbed up like crazy as soon as they came out, packing the house for the show.
The concert will include surprise musical guests (BF Justin Bieber perhaps??) and will benefit children around the globe by bringing them clean water, medical supplies, education and food.
Selena was quoted saying, “Giving back has always been important to me. This concert allows me to connect with my fans in person which is one of the best parts of my job and to raise money for important causes at the same time. I can’t think of anything I would enjoy doing more.”
Disney Channel star Demi Lovato has joined forces with Aeropostale and the Do Something network to promote the fifth annual Teens for Jeans campaign.
The denim drive will hit schools around the nation in hopes of helping the growing number of homeless teens. It’s not at all surprising that jeans are the number one requested item by teens, as most of us couldn’t imagine having to go without our favorite pair.
We think it’s pretty cool that Demi is passionate about helping those in need. Get in on her good karma by participating in this campaign – not only will you make a huge difference in someone’s life, but you could also get your school $5,000 and a rockin’ pair of Aeropostale jeans for every kid in the school!
Crawl to the back of your closet and find those jeans you’ve grown out of both physically and style-wise before February 12th to make a huge difference in someone’s life. Go to TeensforJeans.com or text JEANS to 38383 to get involved.
What do you think about Demi helping out with this campaign? Does the star’s generosity inspire you to give back?

Miley Cyrus along with her friends at Youth Service America have come up 10 Ways to Get Ur Good On for MLK Day!
1. Create a service-focused New Year’s resolution to honor Dr. King’s commitment to serving others. Volunteer at least once a month, sponsor a kid in a developing nation, host a coat drive, or tutor at an after school program. Write the resolution on a piece of paper and post it somewhere visible to see everyday.
2. Dr. King often spoke about practicing peace, love, and nonviolence as a means to build a “beloved community.” Share a message of peace in an anti-bullying PSA or music video. Need examples? Amy Poehler, Jessie J, Shailene Woodley, and Bella Throne have all shared great messages.
3. Dr. King’s messages of equality and justice continue to impact our lives today; it’s your turn to share your impact on communities. Enter the Huffington Post TEEN IMPACT contest. Had an amazing volunteering experience? Made a real difference in a disadvantaged community? Share what you’ve done to possibly win $1,000 donated to a charity of your choice, plus a trip to New York for a special screening of Drew Barrymore’s new film Big Miracle.
4. Help the 2011 MLK Day Ambassadors of Service Monique Coleman, Chris Draft, Tatyana Ali, Seth Goldman, and others encourage people to serve on MLK Day. Post on Facebook, tweet, share on Tumblr, or create a video on YouTube explaining the importance of serving others.
5. Dr. King focused on improving lives of people living in poverty. Participate in the Souper Bowl of Caring and collect money or canned goods for deserving people until February 5th.
6. Read MLK’s I Have a Dream speech. Create a YouTube video or write a blog post sharing a dream for your community.
7. Plan a service project and invite friends to join! Bake cookies for a senior citizens home, organize a book drive, or pick up trash in your neighborhood. No project is too small! Find project planning help on the MLK Day of Service website. Share pictures and videos on GetUrGoodOn.org like member Laura did.
8. Aspiring news reporter? Interview community members (parents, teachers, neighbors) to learn more about MLK. How did he impact their lives? Write a blog post or film the interview and share on GetUrGoodOn.org.
9. To honor Dr. King’s work for equality; learn about the Hate Crimes Prevention Act and what your state is doing to enforce it. Visit the Human Rights Campaign website for information about advocating for stricter enforcement of the act in your state.
10. Upload a favorite picture of a peace sign to Facebook or Twitter and include a quote or lyric about peace.
