We’re sure Ashley Tisdale could have her pick of cute guys but she says she doesn’t necessarily consider looks first. In fact, Ash says that personality is now more important to her than a guy’s popularity and looks!
“Now, I am more into a guy’s personality. I like someone I can have fun with and who can be more laid-back than I am, because it calms me down,” says Ashley. “At the same time, I want to be with someone who wants to work as much as I do and who respects me like I respect him.”
Ashley recently confirmed that she’s still dating her former music video director Scott Speer.
It’s been debated for years if cheerleading counts as a sport or not, but Ashley Tisdale says that it definitely should! The former High School Musical star plays a college cheerleader in her new series Hellcats and also grew up cheerleading.
“To anyone who thinks cheerleading isn’t a sport, I can definitely tell you that it is,” says Ash. As for her own experience with cheerleading, Ashley says, “I was really shy when I was younger and cheerleading helped me come out of my shell.” She adds that Hellcats is “dramatic with some great cheers and really good energy. I have a really good feeling about it.”

Aly Michalka stars as law student Marti Berger, who finds herself in need of some help when her scholarship is canceled. She ends up joining the Hellcats, the school’s prestigious cheerleading squad, to try to win a scholarship reserved for one of the cheerleaders. Marti also becomes roommates with Savannah (played by Ashley Tisdale), the captain of the Hellcats.
Ashley Tisdale spent the last few months hard at work on a pilot for Hellcats, and it’s all paid off for her! The CW announced today (May 19) that they are officially picking up Hellcats for next season.
The show stars Aly Michalka, a college student who joins her school’s cheerleading squad when her scholarship ends, and Ashley, the head cheerleader.
