Taylor Swift was absolutely stunning during her performance at the 2010 Country Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee last night. Swift crooned “Back to December” (just as we expected), while fake snow fell from the ceiling on a foggy stage.
Taylor spoke with MTV earlier about the importance of Back to December: “I’ve never felt the need to apologize in a song before. But in the last two years I’ve experienced a lot, [including] a lot of different kinds of learning lessons and sometimes you learn a lesson too late and at that point you need to apologize because you were careless.”
One of the reasons we are so excited for the final chapter in the Twilight saga is for Bella’s wedding to her blood-sucking sweetheart, Edward Cullen.
However, one of the most important parts of the wedding has yet to be decided: the dress. Kristen Stewart told MTV News, “To be honest, it’s such a big deal… I have a little hand in having a decision- or having an opinion more—but I think it’s pretty much up to Stephenie.”
Stephenie Meyer is the author of the Twilight series. She was the biggest-selling author of 2008 and 2009 for her vampire romance novels.
Fair warning: If you get involved with Taylor Swift, chances are you could end up as the subject of one of her songs.
While discussing her latest album, Speak Now in an exclusive interview with MTV News, Swift revealed, “I’ve had this formula for a long time that I’ve kind of applied to my music.”
“If I continue to write music about my life and my life is always changing, then my music is always changing,” she said. “And if I change that whole process of writing music, that entire process of writing songs in my bedroom about what I’m going through at that moment — because the only way I know how to understand pain or move past it is to write songs about it — if I change that, I’m really more changing a part of who I am. And I don’t really want to start doing that.”
That said, the singer is not worried about if potential flings will have reservations about dating her. “It’s understandable, but … I’ve never kept quiet the fact that I write songs about people,” she said. “It’s like, this is album number three. You guys have had fair warning!”
Earlier this week, Kristen Stewart who plays Bella Swan in The Twilight Franchise, sat down with MTV to talk about the filming of the second half of Breaking Dawn. This will be the final chapter in the Twilight films, and there will be plenty of things to take in, including the birth of Bella and Edward’s child.
Stewart was also asked how she felt about the series coming to an end, and she had this to say: “I mean it’s odd because it feels the same yet it’s different because we all know it’s over.”
Watch out, Hollywood! MTV is bringing back the hidden-camera prank show Punk’d—with Justin Bieber as the host! Multiple sources have hinted that a Punk’d revival is in the works, and that J.D.B. is MTV’s top choice for host.
According to NY Mag, former prankster Ashton Kutcher, who hosted the show from 2003 to 2007, is rumored to have committed to the show as an executive producer. A few other minor details, such as Bieber’s busy schedule, are also being taken into consideration before the show gets the green light.
Sources at MTV have said they have always planned on bringing back Punk’d— they were simply waiting for the right time to keep the pranks fresh and unpredictable. The old Punk’d featured stars such as Kanye West and Lindsay Lohan. We can’t wait to see who Justin’s first “victim” will be!
ATTENTION ALL BELIEBERS: It wont be long until you get a healthy dose of The Biebs. Your favorite teen idol recently tweeted that the music video for his single “U Smile” will be released in no time at all!
J.B. broke the news earlier today via a little bird: “yeah i got the news…U SMILE video premieres Sept 30th!!…next week!”
According to an MTV interview, the single is one of Justin’s favorites.
“‘U Smile’ is one of the best songs I have ever recorded. It really is a throwback to the great records I listened to growing up. … I wrote it for all my fans who got me here.”
With MTV’s Video Music Awards just around the corner, fans of the nominees are stepping up to ensure that their pick wins. For Justin Bieber‘s fans, or should we say The Beliebers, it’s a completely different story–they will do anything to make sure the Bieb’s goes home with a Moonman statue in hand.
Bailey Solomons, a Bieber fanatic, has this to say on the subject: “Most of the fans that he has are really big fans, so if they vote for him, they’ll vote for him every single day”. Another fan added to her statement, “Nobody stands a chance against him, if they did, I would be so shocked.”
The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday September 12th at 9p.m. ET/PT, from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California. Justin Bieber is already doing his part to get the word out about the show. He recently starred in a ‘Hard Days Night-Esque’ promotion for MTV which shows him being chased down by his teenage fans.
“I’m kind of like The Beatles running, and there’s girls chasing after me.” When asked if he minded having girls chase him he said, “I like girls chasing me, so it’s good.”
Bieber is up for Best New Artist, and you can vote for him RIGHT HERE.
Charlie St. Cloud hit theaters today, and Zac Efron sat down with MTV to discuss the new direction that his acting career is taking him.
“‘What do the fans want to see?’ I could do another musical. I could stick to my guns and try to do more of that…Is that really what the fans want to see? I mean everyone is like, ‘How can you make that transition? How are you going to get the fans to follow you into this new kind of stuff?’” He goes onto say, “I want to make movies because it’s challenging and it’s an opportunity to help people. Otherwise it’s, just, you know kind of selfish I think.”
