Singing YouTube superstar Austin Mahone has finally received a record deal! Chase Records gave him the deal through Universal Republic, and we can’t be happier for Austin!
Owl City and Florence + the Machine both have record contracts Universal Republic. We hope the deal brings Austin just as much success!
Austin has often been called “Baby Bieber,” and now that he and Justin Bieber are both signed to UMG, the two have even further similarities. Austin also recently missed the 1 million Twitter followers mark. Everything’s coming up Austin!
In February we were all wooed by Owl City’s front man, Adam Young, and his music video valentine he created for Taylor Swift, but it turns out Taylor didn’t share our enthusiasm. In a recent interview with Aol Music, Adam says he never heard back from his country sweetheart, but that she still holds a special place in his heart.
“…she never actually did respond. I was never really expecting to hear a response per se, but it was a fun thing to do. I think she’s such a sweet girl…she’s so gorgeous and so exquisite and so eloquent it was so hard to come up with the right words. And now that I step back and look around at who else is out there, she’s really the only one who comes to mind.”
This Valentine’s Day Owl City’s Adam Young presented his crush with the ultimate gesture of love– he wrote Taylor Swift a song. Swift and Young had dated briefly, and on her newest album the country star wrote a song called “Enchanted” that is said to be about him. Adam took it into his own hands to reply with an equally-as-cute response.
Along with the song, he also wrote Taylor a letter explaining how he feels about her. *Warning* Grab tissues before reading!
