Austin and Ally‘s Ross Lynch is appearing in a new film, “Teen Beach Movie,” which is coming to the Disney Channel this summer!
It’s a musical standoff between bikers and surfers in the vein of Grease or West Side Story, and the film was filmed in Puerto Rico!
In the meantime the protagonists Brady (played by Ross) and McKenzie (Maia Mitchell) get stuck in a 1960′s movie!
Ross hopes it gets as big as High School Musical! What do you think?

Ross Lynch and Laura Marano of ‘Austin & Ally‘, Bella Thorne and Zendaya from ‘Shake It Up,’ and ‘JESSIE’s Debby Ryan have come together and joined Disney‘s 2012 Friends For Change campaign!
Together, they’re working to get young people to try to make a change in the world by engaging the community and volunteering for good causes.
Disney will also donate a whopping $750,000 to various charities!

Ross Lynch visited Radio Disney to dish about his Disney Channel show ‘Austin & Ally‘, his upcoming movie and his musical group R5!
Ross Lynch from Disney‘s ‘Austin & Ally‘ has just signed a record with his band R5!
The additional band members consist of Ross’s three siblings (Rocky, Rydel and Riker, who plays a Warbeler on ‘Glee‘) and their friend Ratliff.
R5′s recording contract is with Hollywood Records, the same label as Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus and Nick Jonas.
While we will have to wait until 2013 for an official album from the group, you can catch them on tour in the next few weeks!

For those of us still mourning the end of the High School Musical era, there may be hope for us yet!
Disney Channel is producing a new Disney Channel Original Movie – “Teen Beach Musical” – coming out in 2013!
Surfer girl McKenzie (played by Maia Mitchell) and her BF Brady (played by Ross Lynch from “Austin & Ally“) find themselves inside of a surf musical movie. In this alternate universe is a huge war between bikers and surfers.
Trying to keep their heads down and find a way back home proves to be more difficult than they thought as everyone around them breaks out into song and dance. As they unconsciously change the plot of the movie, McKenzie and Brady have to be careful before they change the ending – and ultimately their fate.
“Austin & Ally” is going to be the Disney Channel’s latest show. Austin played by Ross Lynch, and Ally played by Laura Marano are the main stars of the show.
The series will premiere later this fall and follows the partnership between polar opposites — Austin, an extroverted musician/singer, and Ally, a brilliant yet shy songwriter — and their two best friends, Trish (Raini Rodriguez) and Dez.
Without telling Ally, Austin and Dez “borrow” one of her songs, record it, create a video and post it on the Internet, after which it and Austin become a local sensation.
When Trish convinces Ally to tell the world she wrote the song, Austin pleads with her to write another hit for him. Instead, the two combine their talents to create a true musical tour-de-force.
