Five years ago, Carly Rae Jepsen finished third on Canadian Idol. Today, she’s one of the world’s biggest pop stars, and she has a few words of advice to aspiring stars who are considering auditioning for a talent show: “go for it!”
“I would encourage anyone who’s considering whether or not to take a chance at that, to jump and go for it,” Carly said in a recent interview with The Metro.
She believes it’s the exposure to the world she got on Canadian Idol that allowed her the fame she has now, and that it helped her get found by Justin Bieber!
“I owe Justin a lot,” Carly said. “He’s been such an amazing supporter.”
Joe Jonas takes on a new dating show called ‘The Choice‘ – a show that hooks celebrities up on dates with regular people.
The format of ‘The Choice’ is ironically similar to ‘The Voice‘, where celebreties have swivel chairs, a button and 15 seconds to decide if they want to date this person.

In other Bieber news, Justin has announced that he will be releasing the song he wrote for his mom THIS FRIDAY in honor of Mother’s Day! Aww…The song is called ‘Turn to You‘ and all the money raised from the song will be donated to other single mom’s out there like Justin’s.
Justin came on the show to debut new material from his ‘Boyfriend‘ music video and to make a big announcement.
We were hoping that the announcement would be when the full video would be released, but we got even better news!
Justin announced that his Believe album will be coming out on June 19th (so far away! Ahh!).
We are still eager to see the rest of the ‘Boyfriend’ video, but luckily Justin showed us enough to hold us over until the day comes when we can see the rest.
